Domain Registration Rate Change
Posted by Don Rodger on 08 January 2019 08:39 PM

At your request, we manage and renew domains for many of you.  Some of you manage your own domains and can disregard this post.

On the domains that we renew, you are invoiced either monthly, quarterly or annually.  Unfortunately, we are continuing to experience increased cost from the major domain registries when your domains are renewed, and as a result, need to increase domain renewal prices accordingly.  Effective March 1, 2019, all domain renewal prices will increase to $4.50 monthly.

This applies to .com, .net and .org domain names. All other domain extensions need to be quoted individually.

Should you have questions, please feel to contact your BizCom Global representative.

Thank you for your business and for choosing BizCom Global.

Email Outage
Posted by Jay Allred on 26 December 2018 03:50 AM

Engineers continue to work on the corrupted mail system. It is still down and will remain down for an extended period of time.

We are working with customer to make their mailboxes accessible via office 365 in lieu of continuity mode.

For customers that BizCom controls your DNS we have already validated the domains, and are working on building users in Office 365.

If your company controls your own DNS either please open a ticket and provide information on how we can make DNS changes for you, or provide a primary contact so we can get these changes to happen.

If you have not already done so, if your Outlook is open, please make sure your profile is set to work offline (see instructions below).

You need to also export your data from your Outlook profile.  Please follow the instructions below based on the device you are on.

Please do not delete your current Outlook profile, or email profile on your mobile device, tablets or Macs.

Symptoms involve the inability to send email, sent email being returned with the sending address showing as a long address or the inability for Outlook to open its folders due to a login error.

To fix this issue please refer to the following KB article (you must be signed in to the support site to view the KB article)...

WordPress Website Hosting Notice - ACTION REQUIRED!
Posted by Don Rodger on 07 August 2018 04:52 PM

Hello All.

Just a heads up if you are running older versions of PHP. Please review this notice ASAP and take the appropriate action to avoid having issues with your website or any custom applications running older versions of PHP.

*OLD* PHP 5.6 and 7.0 – QUICKLY APPROACHING END-OF-SUPPORT PHP is used by over 80% of websites. With that in mind, keeping your website secure is extremely important. Each new PHP version is actively supported by the PHP community for two years following the initial stable release. At the end of the two-year active support, each receives an additional year of critical security issues updates. At this time, both PHP 5.6 and PHP 7.0 are quickly reaching the end of their extended security support. WordPress statistics indicate that 5.6 and 7.0 are currently in use on over 50% of WordPress sites.

---PHP 5.6 will no longer be supported for critical security updates after December 31st, 2018.

---PHP 7.0 will no longer be supported for critical security updates after December 3rd, 2018.

BizCom recommends preparing for an upgrade by testing your site for compatibility with the newer versions. This may include the need to upgrade multiple times from one version to the next, depending on how many versions behind the current stable release your site currently runs. Critical security updates are an essential part of protecting your business presence on the web. Don’t leave your site vulnerable to attacks. Additionally, the newer PHP versions are far superior in speed, performance and efficiency.

To assist you in preparing for an upgrade, a WordPress plugin, PHP Compatibility Checker, is available:
