Outlook Crashes After Installing Latest Windows Updates

Update - Microsoft has re-released KB3097877. BizCom's recommendation is to uninstall the old KB3097877, reboot, and then run Windows Update to obtain the new KB3097877. More information can be found at

BizCom Support has learned that one of the most recent Windows Updates (KB3097877) causes Outlook to lock-up.

Below are our recommendations for resolving this issue:

  • Uninstall KB3097877 by doing the following:
    • Go to the Windows Control Panel
    • Click on Programs and Features (Windows 7/8)
    • On the left side click on View installed updates
    • In the search box in the top right type in KB3097877
    • Click on KB3097877 and click Uninstall
    • Click through the uninstall steps
  • If you do not want to uninstall KB3097877 the only option is to use Outlook Web App
